How to think about it

One house is one project with one punch list. Everything about that house lives on that list: the items, the photos, the notes, who did what and when.

Three roles, and the link is the access. You are the Builder. Each house has one Crew link and one Homeowner link. Whoever opens the crew link is Crew; whoever opens the homeowner link is the Homeowner. Crews and homeowners never need an account or an app.

You verify. Crew submit finished work with a photo. Homeowners can add requests and send work back. Only you mark an item complete, so the record reflects your standard.

Nothing is thrown away. Items and houses archive instead of deleting. The original request and photos stay next to the completion note and photo. At closeout you export a PDF and a data package.

Accepting your referral

• Open your referral link in Safari or Chrome, not inside a messaging or social app. Google sign-in often refuses in-app browsers. Use the link itself the first time, not the Sign in button.
• Sign in with the Google account or email address you want to keep. Later sign-ins use that identity.
• The company name you enter is what homeowners and crews see on their links and on the closeout PDF. Use the name on your trucks.
• If sign-in is interrupted, reopen the original referral message and try again. Nothing is used up until your company is created.

The first three things to do

1. Create your first house. Choose New project in your portfolio and enter the name and address. Pick an active house you are punching this week, not a test one. Add a few items as you walk it. Photos first, labels later is fine.
2. Send the two links. Open the house's Access & activity, choose Create link for Crew and for Homeowner, then copy or share each one. The Crew link goes into the text thread you already use with that crew; the Homeowner link goes to the homeowner. Every trade on that house shares the one Crew link and can filter to its own work. Each link is private to that house and that role. If a link gets into the wrong hands, replace it and the old one stops working.
3. Put it on your phone. Open app.carbidelist.com in Safari or Chrome and add it to your Home Screen. It opens like an app. Items and photos added in a dead zone sync when service returns. On iPhone, Share then Add to Home Screen is also the only way to receive notifications.

That is enough to run a real punch. Everything else below is optional.

Once you are running

• Crews that work several of your houses can get one link that covers exactly those houses. Open People and create a Crew view.
• Ready for review is not complete. Crew submit a photo and note; the item counts as complete only when you verify it. Tell crews and homeowners to open their link in Safari or Chrome, not inside a text or social app.
• Homeowner requests wait for you. A homeowner's new item sits in Pending review until you approve it, ask a question, or mark it out of scope. The crew never sees it before you do.
• Spanish is built in. Crew and homeowner views work in English or Spanish, and item text is translated automatically with the original kept. Your crew switches language from the menu.
• Notifications are per device. Turn them on from the bell in your portfolio for homeowner requests, work ready for review, blockers, and reopened work.
• Invite another builder from People when a project manager needs the same access you have. Only the workspace owner can do this. A referral is different: it gives another company its own separate workspace.
• Tag items by trade as you walk so each crew can filter to its own work, and use Export punch list on the house at closeout for the PDF and data package.
• Your AI agent connects from Agent access. You approve exactly what it may do, and it can never complete, verify, or archive work. Try it after your first house is running, not before.
